About

Olivia Nicol is passionate about helping clients expand their problem-solving and crisis management skills.

Her executive training approach was built by using her 15 year of global academic experience developing cutting-edge courses for students and professionals. She received two teaching awards from Columbia University in New York in recognition of the exceptional quality of the design and delivery of her courses.

She is a certified trainer for Thomas Wedell-Wedellsborg in the Asia-Pacific region using the reframing method (https://howtoreframe.wordpress.com).  The reframing method, featured in Harvard Business Review, allows teams to quickly understand if they are focusing on the right issues before jumping into action.

She received her PhD in sociology from Columbia University in New York, and then held academic positions at the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence, at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), set up in collaboration with the MIT in Singapore, and at the University of Melbourne.

She likes to constantly expand her horizons to better understand the challenges faced by business and society. In addition to sociology, her academic background includes business, political science, communication, and public policy.

She grew up in the United States, Spain, Venezuela and her native France. She speaks French, English and Spanish fluently, all of them with a foreign accent. She lives in Melbourne with her Australian family and Japanese dog.
