I am an assistant professor of sociology at SUTD (Singapore University of Technology and Design). SUTD was established in collaboration with MIT in 2009.

My work examines the interplay between morals and markets in times of crises. More specifically, I am interested in the way responsibility for the recent U.S. financial crisis was constructed through a blame game.

My research has been funded by the AXA Research Fund and by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. My research has been recognized by an award from the Society for the Advancement of Socioeconomics (SASE).

I teach courses in Morals and Markets, in Sociology of Deviance and Social Control, and in Introduction to the Social Sciences.
