I joined SUTD in August 2016, after completing a Ph.D. in sociology at Columbia University and a post-doctoral training at the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence. Before that, I did my undergraduate studies in France, both at HEC and at Sciences-Po in Paris.
My undergraduate studies focused on business and public administration, and my graduate studies in sociology, with a clear focus on economic sociology. I also worked as a consultant for two years in Paris. This broad educational and professional background gives me a good grasp of the recent U.S. financial crisis and its aftermath.
I was born in France, but I have lived abroad most of my life (in Venezuela, the U.S., Spain, Italy, and Singapore). It basically means that I can speak many languages, but do not master any, including French. French people regularly compliment me on my proficiency in my native tongue.
